About this release
'The Poet's Heart' offers a deeply personal exploration of Edvard Grieg's piano music, revealing its lyrical depth and expressive refinement. Bringing together works from different collections, it highlights various facets of the composer's artistry—from the delicate simplicity of 'Folk Melody' to the poetic virtuosity of 'Study (Hommage à Chopin)' and the timeless tenderness of 'Jeg elsker dig!'. The journey culminates in 'The Poet's Heart', a deeply expressive transcription that lends the EP its title. Having previously dedicated the album 'grieg | notturno' to Grieg's Lyric Pieces, Alessandro Stella now delves into a different selection of the composer's works, further deepening his connection with this repertoire and bringing to life some of its most intimate and evocative pages with rare sensitivity and artistry.
The release includes a photographic booklet with liner notes by Alessandro Stella.
