About this release
Oltrepassare is a boundary-crossing modern classical album where accordion, piano, strings and rarefied electronics meet, offering a cohesive, story-driven listening experience that moves between classical, ambient and cinematic worlds. At its core lies the Oltrepassare suite, in which the accordion—Roffi's first instrument and musical home—becomes a living thread, sometimes leading, sometimes stepping back to let other voices emerge. Throughout the album, Roffi explores a sense of freedom that moves beyond genre, tradition and geography, allowing the accordion to inhabit the present while still carrying the echoes of its past. Oltrepassare is the first release in Extended Place's EP Horizons series.
The release includes liner notes and "In the tracks" commentary by Pietro Roffi and photos by Daniele Coluccini.
